For most of her life, Lourdes trusted what could be studied, tested, and understood.

With a PhD in Organic Chemistry and a 35-year career spanning science, life sciences, diagnostics, and executive leadership, curiosity has always been at the center of who she is.

But life eventually asked her to explore something that couldn't be measured quite so easily.

After experiencing the profound loss of two life partners and later retiring from a career that had defined much of her adult life, Lourdes found herself at the beginning of an entirely new chapter. She walked the Camino de Santiago across Spain — a journey that created space for grief, reflection, movement, and the question of what might come next.

Somewhere along the way, Reiki kept calling.

What began as a deeply personal search for healing became something more. Through Reiki, Lourdes discovered a practice that invited her to slow down, reconnect with herself, and create space for peace during a season of enormous change.

That journey eventually became Water Snake Reiki.

The water snake represents transformation: shedding what no longer serves us, moving with the current rather than against it, and emerging into what comes next. For Lourdes, it reflects a life shaped by loss, resilience, curiosity, and the courage to keep becoming.
